BUSINESS CHAMBER

The Taiwan Cooperative Bank, a publicly listed bank, and The Export-Import Bank of the Republic of China, a state-owned financial institution in Taiwan, are considering setting up operations in the Czech Republic to take advantage of the growing economic interaction between both countries.

The Czech-Taiwanese Business Chamber signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Business Next Media at the Taiwan-Czech Republic Economic, Trade, and Investment Forum in Taipei, setting a goal to bring the startup ecosystems of the two countries closer together.

To further promote pragmatic business cooperation on both sides, the Bureau of Foreign Trade of MOEA and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) have organized business matchmaking sessions at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.

The 2020 Taiwan-Czech Republic Economic, Trade, and Investment Forum was organized to promote bilateral industrial cooperation and exchanges and assist businesses in grasping new business opportunities in the post-pandemic era.

Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) is the flagship startup program funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). The main mission of the program is to foster entrepreneurship, innovation, and ultimately build a vibrant international tech startup ecosystem in Taiwan.

The Czech delegation visited Industrial Research Institute (ITRI) in Hsinchu to learn more about ITRI’s accomplishments in biomedical and pandemic prevention technologies, such as the iPMx Molecular Rapid Test System for COVID-19 virus detection, which can generate results in less than an hour, and production of ventilators within 17 days.
