Czech politicians warned that China could respond to this visit by suspending investment in the Czech Republic. “We are more or less creating controversy out of this visit by ourselves. The whole world trades with Taiwan. It is the fourth most innovative and highly exportive economy. We keep assuming that this visit is anti-Chinese, which is absurd.” Diviš argues.
“It makes a lot of sense to deepen our cooperation with Taiwan, as Taiwanese companies employ 18,000 people in the Czech Republic. As far as I know, the Czech-Chinese relations are represented by a few people, we unnecessarily exaggerate this topic”, says Pavel Diviš.
